What does my admission status mean to me? What do I do next?

Identify "who you are" below and then look to the right to find a link to further information on your admission status.

Future Freshmen

You are a freshman if:

  • You have never attended college OR

  • You are enrolled in high school and college courses concurrently (regardless of the number of credits) OR

  • You have attempted less than 24 college credit hours since graduating from high school or earning your GED.

    Graduate Students (Masters)

    You are a graduate student if:

  • You previously earned a Bachelors degree from an institution accredited by one of the six regional associations of schools and colleges OR

  • You previously earned a Masters degree from an institution accredited by one of the six regional associations of schools and colleges

    Transfer Students

    You are an Undergraduate transfer student if:

    You have attempted more than 24 semester hours of college-level course work (not including remedial or technical courses) since high school graduation (or the equivalent). Credits must be from a post-secondary institution accredited by one of the six regional associations of schools and colleges. Course work completed at an institution accredited by any other bodies/agencies is not recognized for admission or transfer credit.

    You are a Graduate transfer student if:

    You previously earned a Bachelors degree from an institution accredited by one of the six regional associations of schools and colleges.

    AND

    You have successfully completed graduate level hours at another regionally accredited institution but have not earned a degree.

    Non-Degree Seeking Students

    You are a non-degree seeking student if:

  • You are interested in participating in a Continuing Education certificate program

    OR
  • You are enrolled in another accredited institution and wish to take a course(s) from Troy University
    OR
  • You are interested in applying college credit towards teacher certification, but are not seeking a teaching degree through Troy University
